NEET PG 2017 : Admission for MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses

NEET PG 2017 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Post Graduate) is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses of 2017 admission session as per Section (10) of Indian Medical Council Act 1956.
 
NEET PG is a single window entrance examination for PG courses. No other entrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 w.e.f. 2017 admission session.
 
National Board of Examinations has been notified by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Goverment of India to conduct NEET-PG on an All-India Basis for admission to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses at various medical colleges and institutions of the country.
 
NBE shall be conducting NEET-PG as a Computer Based Test (CBT) from 5th - 13th December 2016 at test centres located in 41 cities across the country.
 
 

Scope of NEET PG 2017

 
NEET-PG 2017 shall be a single eligibility cum entrance examination namely ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses’ for the academic session 2017 which will include the following:
 
  1. All India 50% quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses (all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)
     
  2. State quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses for all States/Union territories of India (including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)
     
  3. MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at all Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/DeemedUniversities all across the country
     
  4. MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions. 
     
  5. DNB Broad specialty courses (January 2017 Admission Session) The following Medical institutions are not covered by centralized admissions for MD/MS seats through NEET-PG for 2017 session:

    i. AIIMS, New Delhi
     
    ii. PGIMER, Chandigarh
     
    iii. SGPGIMS, Lucknow
     
    iv. JIPMER, Puducherry
     
    v. NIMHANS, Bengaluru
     
    vi. Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum
 
 
No state government /private medical college/universities including the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh shall be conducting any separate entrance exam for admission to their MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses for the academic session 2017-2018.
NEET-PG 2017 is a qualifying-cum-ranking examination for admission to MD/MS/ Post Graduate Diploma courses of 2017 admission session.
 
Applicant may kindly note that appearance in NEET-PG does not confer any automatic rights to secure a Post graduate MD/MS/Post Graduate Diploma seat. The selection and admission to Postgraduate seats in any medical institutions recognized for running MD/MS/Post Graduate Diploma courses as per Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 is subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, medical fitness and such criteria as may be prescribed by the respective universities, medical institutions, Medical Council of India, State/Central Government.
