NEET results declared, Kota students bag top 3 positions
JAIPUR: After claiming top three slots in JEE-Advanced (IITs), Kota has weaved another big success story. This time in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Exam (NEET), results of which were announced by CBSE on Tuesday. Top three students who cleared NEET are from Kota.
The state capital also made a mark in the exam with five students making to it top 100.
Het Shah and Ekasnsh Goyal - who scored all-India first and second ranks, respectively, studied in Kota for two years.
Nikhil Bajiya, who got third rank, is from Juhunjhunu.
However, the three are students of AIIMS, and this result makes little difference to them considering that AIIMS is the top medical institute in the country any aspiring doctor would want to get admission in.
Bajiya, who got second rank in AIIMS, has no regret that he stood third in NEET. A first-year student of AIIMS (Delhi), he told TOI: "I expected to be in top five. This will be of no help as I am already in AIIMS, but this has for sure boosted my confidence."
Jaipur: Till the last reports came in, Bajiya was the only student of Rajasthan domicile who made it in top 10.
Pink City, which had 10 students in top 100 in JEE-Advanced, has a lion's share in NEET as well.
Till last reports came in, five students from Jaipur were in top 100. Ayush Jain got 23rd rank, Ritik Goyal 42nd, Rupal Periwal 54th, Vagisha Sharma 80th and Divyansh Gupta 89th.
"Being a topper from Jaipur is also a matter of pride. I knew that Jaipur students are best performers in the country," Ayush Jain, who is also a student of AIIMS (Delhi), told TOI.
Jain has not yet decided his field of specialization. "It is too early to think of anything. For first 2-3 years I will study medical will positive mindset and will choose my specialization according to my interest," he said. Jain's parents are also doctors.
