25 students from city clear PMET
Several students in the city have managed to clear the Punjab Pre-Medical Entrance Test (PMET-2016), the result of which was declared yesterday after a week’s delay.
The result was scheduled to be declared on June 15, but it was delayed after Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) received complaints regarding some questions and the test was held in two shifts on June 11.
As many as 14,689 students had appeared in the first computer-based online test in two shifts. BFUHS was forced to take this exam in two shifts due to the Jats’ agitation in Haryana. Some PMET centres in Haryana were shifted to Punjab.
As many as 13 students of Class XII (medical stream) of DAV Public School secured top ranks in the PMET. DAV students, who cleared the exam include, Tanishq Kansal (ranked 18 in PMET and 118 in AIIMS), Raghav Arora (PMET rank 25), Pranshul Aggarwal (PMET rank 50), Pranav Vig (ranked 54 in PMET and 39th in AIIMS), Jaikirat Singh (PMET rank 129), Ashwin Kaushal (PMET rank 170), Malvika Jain (PMET rank 230), Vaibhav Oberoi (PMET rank 236), Nilohit Gupta (PMET rank 246), Ria Sehgal (PMET rank 423), Anusha Aggarwal (PMET rank 606), Aastha Sharma (PMET rank 579) and Anisha Bhasin (PMET rank 375).
Delhi Public School’s (DPS) Chirag Gupta secured 11th in the PMET and 555 in AIIMS. Other DPS students who cleared the exam, include Roshanpreet Kaur (PMET rank 70), Meyanka Saini (PMET rank 85) and Bhavshereen Kaur (PMET rank 366).
A local academician, Dr Naveen Gupta, claimed that his eight students, who cracked the PMET, include Anoushka Gupta (PMET rank 21), Raghav Arora (PMET rank 25), Roshanpreet Kaur (PMET rank 74), Saurav Pathania (PMET rank 70 and AIIMS 609), Surbhi Pathania (PMET rank 312), Sapna Pathania (PMET rank 378), Navkaran Singh (PMET rank 320) and Guramrit Singh (PMET rank 477).
